Jean, How strange for me to read your post. My grandmother was Lucia (Lucy)Gianotti. I thought she was born in America. Her mother was a Menone, maried to a Parenti. Her married name was Gianotti. She married Raymond (Remo) Gianotti who was from Faicchio, Benevento, Italy. He was one of 11 brothers and had 1 or 2 sisters. Most of them came to the U.S. at the beginning of the 20th century and most all settled in Connecticut. I cannot locate my Grandpa on the Ellis Island site. But I believe I have found some of his siblings. Most of which ended up in New Haven.
