Steven, my maiden name is Tripi and my family is also from Montemaggiore. I live in Lewiston (30 miles N. of Buffalo) My sisters have done alot of research and our family tree is growing. My great grandfather, whose name was F. Carmelo, came over here in the 1890's. He had 3 brothers (Anthony, Frank and Sam) and 2 sisters (Philomena and Giovannina) What is the name of your great grandfather? If they weren't siblings they were definitely cousins.
