Dear Joseph:

Thank you for your message. I changed my surname from Baglio to Balio. It seemed to be easier for everyone to pronounce!

My grandfather's name is Salvatore Baglio and was the son of Maria Baglio and Peter Manno. My grandfather was born on July 2, 1886 in Alcamo. He took the surname of his mother Maria Baglio. My grandther married in Alcamo on December 24, 1916 to Giuseppina Bellasera Spano and went to America a few years later.

I recently sent a letter to a Salvatore Baglio in Alcamo but have not heard a response as yet.

I most likely will return to Sicily in March of next year to investigate further. I hope this helps! Patricia
