I'm researching my Wife's family, and am hoping for some help from you folks that are well-acquainted with researching this area of Italy. I've spent the last 3 years researching my lineage (Portuguese) and I know the ins and outs of that type of research, but Italy is an entirely different animal.

My wife's Great Grandfather is:

Francesco Caruso
born 14 Feb 1893, Filadelfia
died 27 October 1965, Hartford, CT.

He arrived in New York 29 Apr 1910 on a ship out of Naples called the San Giorgio. The manifest lists his Mother as Anna D'Astoli. Beyond that, we don't know anything.
