Grandfather's (Giulio Veronese) Military Service

Grandfather's name was Giulio Veronese and I am looking for information on how to find out about his Military service in Italy. He was born in 1880 in Chieti (on his birth record his parents are listed as unknown). He was married in the Town of Sanvalentino in Abruzzo Citeriore, Providence of Pescara in 1903. He & his family emigrated to the USA in 1907 so I would assume that he was in the service sometime around 1895-1905. The only information I have is that he might have served in the Alps? Is there anyone out there who could direct me to where I might be able to get information on this military service?
