"marr-haba"

I knew the Jahshans were a large family, but I think I am under-estimating this idea of 'large' ... but that is a good thing ... it is really good to know that there are more Jahshans in this world than I think.

Anyway, my name is Elias Jahshan, and I live in Sydney, Australia, where there happens to be a huge group of Jahshans...some live in Perth, some on the Gold Coast, but most live in Sydney. I am 18 years old, born and grew up in Australia (like everyone else in my generation and below), and a university student studying Journalism. My father, Faris, and his sister, mother and numerous cousins and relatives were displaced from their homes in Jaffa, Palestine in 1948 - my Dad was only eight years old, and he never forgets it. (My mother is Lebanese)

Anyway, that's not the point. The point is that there is a large group of Jahshans in Australia. I have one brother, two sisters, 3 nephews & 1 niece, and lots and lots of cousins and relatives on my father's side (but that is normal for Jahshans, right?). I also want to point out that my father also has many cousins living in Amman, Jordan (they never migrated to Australia), and we have some loose connections with Jahshans living in Beirut, Lebanon and some living on the Western side (most likely California) of the USA.

Anyway this is a really long letter...if it wasn't for 'Goggle' I would not have stumbled upon this site, but I'm glad I did.

bye for now
Elias.
