Civil War - Joseph F. Ismay

This site is dedicated to those who served in the New York regiments during The American Civil War. Even though I was raised a Virginian, my great great grandfather (Joseph F. Ismay) fought in the 102nd New York in Company D from the time the 102nd was called to duty, November 1, 1861, until it was mustered out July 21, 1865. I have been able to find a number of war records, including Diary Passages, a series of U.S. Pension Records, Regimental Desriptive Book Entries, Company Muster Rolls, Hospital Muster Rolls, Birth Certificate, Death Certificate, and Discharge Certificate, which I have included on his page.
