Thank you Charles. That helps me a lot. I will check with my cousin Martha Melvin Yates and see if this lines up. It appears that it does but she has more info than I.
The Isleys and Waggoners were relation on my grandpa Melvins line.
Lewis and Elizabeth had a daughter who married a Melvin & their son Elias Melvin on down to my grandpa.
Papa's dad was James Arthur Lee Melvin married to Laura Elzata Bodenhiemer. Papa was the oldest of 9 children. I believe that Sam Allred was an adopted son of theirs.
Do you know much about the Waggoner side of the family? I am not writing a book or anything, I just wanted this for my children and grandchildren to add to.
I have 8 grandchildren and of those 8 3 are interested in family history.
