You might want to know that Isley is an Americanization of the original 18th century German name EISLE. Clapp was KLAPP; Coble was GOBEL/LOBEL. There are many more 18th century Germans in the counties of Guilford, Randolph, Alamance, and Rowan & Orange.
My own lineage is Clapp, Coble, Fogleman, Smith, Lineberry, etc.
