Karen:
Thank you for the information.I sincerely appreciate it. I think you have helped me to straighten something out. This is what I gleaned from your posting:
An Unknown Wolfe and Zibilla Wolfe parented Jacob Wolfe who was born Abt. 1715.This Jacob Wolfe married Veronica Domin (a widow) from the Bern, Switzerland. Nine years later the widown Domin died and he remarried Appolonia Shiver (SHULER: Which is correct?) Veronica Domin and Jacob Wolfe had a daughter named Zibilla Wolfe (after his dead wife?) I assume that the 1750 document I have shows that Apollonia and Zibilla took communion, this was communion to step daughter and step mother?)
This is where I come in.Zibilla Wolfe married my ancestor, Jacob Isler. They had two children:(1)Jacob Izler, born in 1767; (2) and Tobias Eazler, born in 1772, the year that Zibilla Wolfe and Jacob Isler both died.I believe she died in childbirth or as a result of childbirth (assumption).
This is how I connect Tobias Eazler to Jacob Isler:
(1)Tobias was born the year Zibilla died
(2)The German pronounciation of Isler is Ezler
(3)Tobias named his first son Jacob (Easler) probably after his father.
I believe that Jacob Isler came to Charleston in 1734 on the Ship St. Andrew Galley. He is first seen in Orangburgh in December of 1734 in the company of a Wolfe.I assume now this to be the Unknown Wolfe and Zibilla Wolfe.
I talked many years ago to an old lady, long dead, who told me that the first Easler to the US was raised by the Wolfe family.I have later found out that the Fairfield County branch of the family had the same family tradition and our two families have been out of touch until recently for over a 100 years.I would love some good old DNA testing but cant afford it.Any direct decendent of Zibilla Wolfe should match up with me if i'm right and I think I am.
Again, thank you so much.I hope you can help me further
