Parents were listed as Hiram Lewis, born NY and Jane C. Williams, born “Unknown.”

John H. Lewis’ birth date/place were listed as June 8, 1861 in Montgomery County, OH.

From this information, it appears the family William Hartley found in the 1880 census are the right family.

Hiram and Jane appear in the 1870 US Census in the 9th Ward, Dayton, Montgomery County, OH

In 1860 they are in Jefferson Twp., Montgomery County, OH.
