Bill, I think you picked up some good information regarding our family history in Germany. BTW, to whom do you write to get this information? Is it possible to get more information from them on where they got this data? I took some time to analyze what you got and did a little digging. I have various comments and additions to your post. I will break them up as you have and comment on each portion separately. NOTE: Anyone that reads this should make note that these comments are not based on facts. They should only be used as reference to help in proving them true or false. On to my comments… Freidrich Eisenmanger and Maria Margarete Nollert: I have thought about this one a lot. The information you got is probably our two that we have been looking for. The time frames for Freidrich and Margarete are very close to what we were expecting for dates. Even the last child listed is just before what we believe is the immigration time of Sept. 1751 for them. An observation with the second child, he only has one name. I am guessing he died before he was baptized to get his second name. The first child possibly died before they left or even in their travels to the USA. Using www.familysearch.org, I did not find any reference to either child or Freidrich, but there are several Eisenmenger/Eisenmangers’ listed in Mosbach, Germany. Hans George Nollert and Elisabeth Kebler: I am fairly sure this is the same family that we believe to be Margarets’ parents. Going by the names in Georges’ will, the names match perfectly. I do have things to add to this side of the family. In going over this data I have figured out a few more facts. First the data you got provides the fathers of George and Elisabeth, Johann George Nollet and Hans Michael (Keßler) Kessler, both bakers (Backermeister). I also used this data at www.familysearch.org and got the following about two of George and Elisabeths’ children. I found both Maria Elisabeth and Catherine Elisabeth with sources. The source happens to be Evagelische Kirche Eppingen(A. Eppingen) Kirchenbuch, 1640-1887. I have not taken the time to find more information about this source yet. I also found some interesting references on www.familysearch.org on the (Keßler) Kessler side. I did find Hans Michael and he was married 2 or three times. I have several references to each of the wives. For two of the wives there is much more history to them, but I won’t go into it in this reply. I also found Hans Michaels’ parents and both grandfathers. It goes back to the early 1600’s. If Peter Shrope returns to this post, I did find some interesting information. I did find a Schropp connection to the Kessler family. I found a Christoph Schropp that was a son of a Maria Magdelena (Keßler) Kessler and Johann Georg Schropp. The Maria listed is a sister or half-sister to our Elisabeth Kessler (Not 100% sure whom was born to which mother). This Christoph immigrated on the same ship as Freidrich Eisenmenger and George Nollert, the Neptune. So we are probably distantly related. There are various references to Eppingen, Germany, which ties back to the reference I found years ago about Freidrich coming to America. I hope this helps in taking that next step on the family tree. FYI, I will post the same reply on the other board that I know has your same post. Notify Administrator about this message?
