Hi I was wondering if you would consider any Izard info from the 1600s, England. Some of us believe that the s and the z in the Izard names to be the same family. If so , let me know and I will post info similar to the following: Wm. Izard 1659, husband of Frances ------, children Thomas, Sarah and John , born 1660, 1662, 1663, respectively. He was a Draper. Also, Ralph Izard of St. Helen Bishopsgate, son of William Izard 1627, Mother Elizabeth Brand mar. 1654, May 28 at St Augustine to Elizbeth Prior(daughter of George Prior) He was a citizen /Grocer/Warder 1679 died 1699 Jun 16 Bur at St Helen Bishopsgate Children John (1667), Thomas, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Elizabeth(died) , and Charles(died).
I have more if you are interested. The only Richard Izard I have was born 1635. He was of St. Boltolph Bishopsgate, married 1675, Sept. , to Martha Prior of Highgate Midd, a Grocer. Died 1688Sept. 10 Bur. at St Helen etc.
And the only John Izard I have was, of course, the son of Ralph that I mentioned above. His children were Ralph, b. 1696, John b. 1698, another John b. 1699, Charles b. 1700, Elizabeth b. 1701 and Mary b.1702.
All this info is at The Soc. of Gen. , 37 Harrington Gardens SW7, London and I believe came from Poll Books. Apparently, they were all tradesmen.
The Edward Pleasants Valentine Papers Vol II
mention an Isle of Wight County Record VA, record of one Richard Izard. There is a Court record of him being appointed guardian to sons of Robert Braswell dated 1668. Rebecca Izard was his wife. Richard had two daughters Mary Izard and Martha Isard. But no mention of his Father.
