Elizabeth,
I haven't done a lot of research on the Isaacs, but the name has come up a few times. The Ann "Cheek" I mentioned who married Hugh Isaac was a sister of my gggggrandfather George Chick. In the Chick Bible I have, there is listed the death of a George Isaac in 1785, so he could be a young son of Ann and Hugh. The IGI lists a Luce Chick who married a William Isaac in 1761.
I also have a silver spoon dated 1801, the date of baptism of my ggggrandfather William Chick, son of George Chick and Sarah Gay. On it are two sets of initials - "W.C" and "C.I". Isaac is the only surname I can find to be related to the Chicks, but I can't figure out what the "C" would stand for. Unless C and I stand for "Christening" and "Infant"?
Let me know if anything connects to your Nathaniel.

Diane B.
