Hi Marion, I am interested in the Scott name in connection with the Irvings. My great grandmother, Thomasina Rae, married my great grandfather, George Irving, in 1854 and emmigrated to Canada. I can find very little information about Thomasina except the 1851 census where she was living in Carrutherstown with her Grandmother Elizabeth Scott. I can find nothing on her parents but it appears that her grandparents were John Scott in Shawfoot 1771 to 1850, her grandmother was Elizabeth ( Betty Affleck 1771 to 1855. So the assumption would be that her mother was a Scott. Is there anything in you census about these Scott's, Afflecks or Rae's.
