I am descended through their eldest son, Alfred born 11-22-1833, in South Carolina and died in Faulkner County, Arkansas 8-30-1908. Alfred was a physician and practiced medicine in Faulkner County after the civil war (Confederate side) until his death.
By chance, on the internet I found a distant cousin in Holland, Arkansas who has been doing research on the Carter family for about 25 years and was happy to share what he has with me and a cousin in Texas. I would be happy to forward this on to you by e-mail if you wish. I have been doing this for about two years and still have a long way to go.
I'm very pleased to meet another Carter relation.
