Hi Joan,
Wow, I don't know anything about other Ballard's in the mix! My Ballard name came from my stepfather. I was adopted under his name when I was 7 years old, as my biological dad left us (on Christmas-Nice...). I do know a few names in the Ballard family history, and my uncle's were always fun to be with, but my stepdad is not around anymore to ask. I was going to tell you that I saw a copy of Scottish Life magazine and there is an article on growing flax and weaving linen! It did also mention Aberdeen. Also in a place called Saint Columba in Scotland there is an abbey where it says all the Scottish Kings up to the 11th century were buried. It said that King Duncan I and MacBeth are buried there. I tryed to locate a picture, and I saw some knight people lying down made out of stone. I would like to see the grave. Also when looking up the Abbey, there was a picture of Duncan I. It was a profile and I think he looked a little like James Irvin he had a beard too. There is also a picture of what an artist thought Macbeth looked like. It's too bad Shakepeare didn't write the story the way it truly happened. You made me laugh about the undertaker thing! Best Regards! K Ballard
