No, my grandfather's given name was Ike.He had two brothers that I know of.Arch Irvin went to Illinois and Tom Irvin stayed in Kentucky though there may be a link to N. Carolina Irvin's.Ike Irvin's father (name unknown) came from Germany as a stow away in a ship.The crew stacked things on top of the barrel he was hiding in, so he could not get out.He nearly died before anyone found him.That was the story my father used to tell me, but he did not remember his grandfather's name.I have a picture (an old tin type) of Ike and Dona Irvin, if you would like me to e-mail a copy. Ike and Dona lived near the entrance to Mammoth Cave, KY prior to their move to Texas around 1900, since my father was born in Kaufman County, TX in 1910.I hope this helps.
