Barbara,I am not certain that this will connect with your Simeon Irvin. However, in my husband's genealogy there is a Simeon P or T Irvin, who was born in TN around 1825.He died in Arkansas, around 1915, probably in Sebastian co, Ark.He was married to an Elizabeth when they came to Arkansas before the Civil War.
They had several children.I think his first wife, an Elizabeth, was Choctaw and they came in the pre Civil Warpush by the government for government control of Indian lands in these southern states. They had about six children, one of whom died in infancy, or so a descendant thought. The family stayed in Sebastian co, Ark, until the Civil War.

Irvins, b. 1855, Sebastian Co, Ark., md. Mary J. (?), who was born in TN in 1859.They had at least two children.James B. Irvins b. 1878, Cole twsp., Sebastian co, Ark.And, Joseph T. Irvins, b. Feb. 1880, Cole twsp. Sebastian Co., Ark.

Sebastian Co., Ark.Simeon's first wife Elizabeth died in Oil City, Kansas, during the Civil War, or so a descendant told me..She gave birth there to a child.According to my informant, this child died,.On the other hand, t I found a Gustavus Irvin who was born in Ark in 1862. so perhaps, the child lived and Elizabeth died.
Simeon hired another Elizabeth Guynn (married name) to care for his small children. In 1870 she is listed with her child who was about 6 years old.Dora Guynn.
