John Irvine/Irvin/Ervin of Gallia County OH

I am looking for information about my gggg-grandfather John Irvine. He was born abt. 1767 in VA and migrated to Gallia County OH in the late 1700's to early 1800's. He died there around 1850 and is buried in the Sanctuary Cemetery, Raccoon Twp. of Gallia County, OH.

His name is spelled differently in each of the census that he appears (Ervin, Irvin, etc.) He had three sons, one of whom is my ggg-grandfather Benjamin O. Irvine (1813-1870). My gg-grandfather Perry L. (son of Benjamin) moved with his family and younger brothers (Charles D., Edward O., and John Q.) to Pike County OH after the Civil War.
