There is a very strong possibility that the names may have been originally misspelled. When your relatives moved to Hawaii, they probably didn't know much English and for this reason, whomever translated the name may have written the name the way it sounded. Not until sometime at the beginning of this year did I find out how to spell Irizarry, which is also spelled with a Yrizarry. In the late 1800, as well as early 1900, they wrote in a fancy script. The I and Y were somewhat alike, and for this reason it can be misinterpreted.
In your search engine, write in "1910 Puerto Rico Census, or 1910 Utuado Census, or 1910 Santa Isabel Census."You will find the Marrero and Irizarry family in these Census.I have the CD, but it takes time, which I don't have at this moment. There is missing information on the Irizarry family in the Census on the net, but I have them on CD.Let me know if you want more info.
