Inch is a name of Irish start. John Insch came from Ireland to Lanc. Co., PA. Lived in what now is Dauphin Co. Family moved up river to Northumberland Co. The recorders dopped the s and inserted sloppy apostrophes and used poorly written /h/( looked like /k/. The In'ck records were interpreted as Irick. Know first hand this is true because I have gone through the records first-hand and know many of the records for Irick are actually for Inch. Any trouble with Northumberland Co. records in PA, keep this in mind.
