I am a descendant of John Irey of EFinley, Washington co. Pa. My great Gpa was John Monroe Irey. Interested in any connections you can give me. Is this John the Revolutionary War capt? I have found several Johns and am unclear since there was no date or residence listed.

My opinion is that we are Welsh or Irish. Someone else is claiming Eyrich which is German. We have a lot of Irish type names in the family and no German. My Grandpa was Angus DeLloyd Irey. My Aunt is Fairalee Jane. They sound Irish or English to me.
