I am a great grandson of that outfit. My great grandfather was James Willis Irey. His nickname was Wilse. He was born 19 Aug 1845 in Washington County, Pennsylvania, died 8 Sep 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri.

He married Mary Ann Newcomb on 8 Sep 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of Lafayette L. Newcomb and Elizabeth Fuller.

They had 14 children, a dozen of which lived to be adults. Their son Claudius Newcomb Irey was my grandfather. He was born 8 Jun 1880 in Waverly, Coffey County, Kansas. He died 22 Apr 1956 in Omak, Okanagan, Washington. He married Myrtle Angie Nihiser on 22 Dec 1904 in Lyndon, Kansas. They had eight children, including my mother, Marvel Ellen Irey. Four of Claude and Angie's children are still living.

The other children of James Willis and Mary Ann Newcomb Irey are:

Emma E. (Teddy) Irey b 14 Mar 1873 in Morgan County (Tipton?), Missouri
Lucy b. 12 Sep 1874 Morgan County, Missouri
James Lafayette (Fett) Irey b 20 Sep 1876 Morgan County, Missouri
