Hello Ireland Family Decendants. Once again we had a very successful Family Reunion at the Ireland House in Burlington, the former home of the Joseph Ireland who came from Bowes, North Yorkshire England in or about 1820. On August 27, 2011 there were about 160 decendants of all ages who attended at the home known as Oakridge Farm on the Guelph Line in the former Village of Nelson, Nelson Township, Halton County, Ontario Canada. You can visit the Museum site at http://museumsofburlington.com/ireland-house where you will be able to find out more about Joseph Ireland. The Family Reunion will once again take place on August 25, 2012 at the Ireland House. All family decendants are welcome to attend. This year we had family members from B.C., Yukon, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec with the majority coming from within a 100 mile radius of Burington. Out of towners were hosted on the Friday night and we had a tour to Niagara Falls for those who had never visited the area.
In September of 2010 we had about 130 family decendants who attended from far and wide and we celebrated 175 years of St. John's Anglican Church, Nelson which was founded by Joseph Ireland.
Please contact me with any questions in regards to attending the reunion and you can also contact the Ireland Family Museum directly with any questions about the Ireland Family.
