Hello Alice, It appears that you have the wrong BARLOW family. The family at house 15 North Main Street in Wexford in 1911 where they carried on a grocery business was indeed that of John Barlow and Mary (O)Connor. However, the subsequent history of the family was not as described. Bridget became a nurse and, after nursing in Australia, including in the 'Flying Doctor' service, returned to Ireland - to St Vinvent's Hospital, Dublin, where she had trained, and became night-matron; Margaret married a Patrick Lambert of Glenbrien, Enniscorthy; Thomas also emigrated to Australia (Sydney, NSW) where he married; Mary, who also trained in St Vincent's Hospital,Dublin. She married a Thomas Boland of Enniscorthy (her daughter Mary, also a 'Vincent's' nurse, now lives in Dublin; Nicholas married a Mai Brown of Enniscorthy; Annie died young. The family also had a farm at Ballydonfin, Glenbrien, Enniscorthy and disposed of their Wexford business following losses suffered consequent on the Wexford strike of 1911. If this is indeed the family which you are researching, I will be happy to provide additional information or to answer your further queries. Notify Administrator about this message?
