I’m trying to find a record of the birth of William N Rowe probably born in 1867. He joined the RIC in 1887 aged 20 and I have seen his service record. He was married on 14th April 1900 to Sarah Jane Splaine. On the marriage cert, his father’s name is Joseph Roe. He died on 2nd May 1916 in Fermoy. His father is said to be Joseph Rowe or Roe (1825 – 1885) of Killanne.
Joseph Roe had 5 children with Anne Watkins – William Nicholas, Elizabeth, Catherine, Robert, Joseph and Edward.
I have the birth cert for Edward and his date of birth is 29th Jan 1867
There is a possibility that William N was adopted.
When I was over in Dublin, I checked the births in the GRO in Abbey St and also the church records for Killane in the R.C.B. and found no trace of William N Rowe
Any help would be very welcome
