My gg grandfather was Bartholomew Connors/O'Connor b. abt 1808 in co Wexford, m. Margaret Doyle b. abt 1819. They had 2 sons Patrick born 1844 and Denis born 1846. They immigrated to East Camden township, Ontario, Canada in 1847 and there had 5 more children. Their 2nd born in Canada was a son, my great grandfather Bartholomew who was baptized Connors but by the time he married he was using O'Connor as were all his siblings. Bartholomew Sr and Margaret were buried as O'Connor. I did not know he went by Connors at all until I looked at the parish records in Ontario and saw him listed as Connors and the children baptized as Connors. I am not sure what name the family went by in Ireland Connors or O'Connor
I do not know where in Wexford they came from. Are they possibly a relation to you? Any idea where I can begin to look since I do not know their parent's names or any of their siblings? The only definite dates I know is they they immigrated in 1847 and that Patrick was born in 1844 and Denis in 1846 and that we are Roman Catholic. I know the O'Connor clan are not historically from Wexford and am hoping to find out where and what sept we are from.
