My grandfather, James J. Fardy was born in 1878 or 1879 in New York. But according to the 1920 census, his father was born in Ireland. Could the Fardy family of Wexford be my ancestors? If he was married when he left Ireland he would have been married and his wife very possibly pregnant when they left.

He eventually settled in Pennsylvania, possible Pittsburgh or Reading.
