I am looking for Information on Gore Atkin and his wife Elizabeth Green. Ideally, I would like to find their parents. I have the following information from a newspaper obituary in 1908: “The Atkin family are of English extraction, having gone to Ireland with Cromwell during the Protectorate, the first member of the family of whom there is authentic record being Gore Atkin, who died in Ireland in 1786. He was a man of prominence, serving as sheriff in the County Wexford. After his death his widow married John Atkin, of the same name but no relation. The children of the first marriage were: Walter; Samuel, who located in Leeds, Ont.; Mary, Mrs. (Rev) Wm. Douglas, died in Ireland, and Eliza, who died unmarried in County Wexford, where she owned much property, Walter Atkin, son of Gore was the grandfather of Miss Eliza Atkin. He was born in 1780 and was educated in Dublin. In 1817 he and his family came to Ontario”
