Hello Christopher,
James Bolton was my gr-grandfather. He was born in Canada in the early 1830's and died in northern Michigan. He married Jane Campbell, whose father was Charles Campbell and mother, Mariah Browne. They were from Edwardsberg, Grenville Co., Ontario. James and Jane were married in Tuscola County, MI in 1870. On the 1870 census, they were all on the census for that county. There was also an Abraham Bolton living near by. He was born June 1, 1810. His father was Abraham Bolton, born in Ireland and Mary Elliot born in Vermont. He was 94 years old at the time of his death. The only Bolton I could find in the Edwardsberg area was Richard Bolton- so I think James may be related to him in some way. James Bolton had a brother, John, who died in Minnesota. His obituary said that he was born in Edwardsberg, Ontario. Can you see any connection between your relative and mine?
Thank you.
