Is there a nice soul out there who might help me find the grave of this Dixey family from Gorey Hill, Gorey Urban, Wexford; as given in the 1901 Census:
The family were R.C. & acc. to Census were illiterate.
James Dixey, 61 Husband, (Shoemaker),
Mary Dixey, 59 Wife,(Tarrant by a prev. marriage)
Thomas Dixey, 13 Son,
James Dixey, 7 Son,
Catherine Dixey, 4 Daughter
Anne Tarrant, 20, Step-Daughter
Martin TARRANT, 2, Step-Son
James Dixey (Father) died in 1904 at ca. 74 yrs.
Thomas Dixey (Son) died in 1908 at ca. 22 yrs.
Mary Dixey (Wife) died in 1920 at ca. 55 yrs.
Could anyone please find the grave(s?) of James, Mary & son Thomas in (presumeably) the local catholic Cemetary which would have been in use at the turn of the century for the Gorey burials. If someone could get some good photos of the grave & Headstone with the inscription (large enough to read if possible); or at least a transcription of the Inscription on the Headstone, and approx. details of where the grave lies in the cemetary...I would be soooo grateful!
Are there still Dixey family living in Gorey? Has anyone done, or know of someone who has a Family Tree they could send me?
My Email is tarrant.gen(at)gmx.de
Look forward to hearing from you in due couse!
