Helen, Thank you for your information re Wexford O'Learys.
My great-great-grandfather, Patrick O'Leary (1796-1858) and his wife Catherine (nee Anderson) (1794-1834), following the birth of their eldest, a son James (1819-1897), moved from Clonegal, Co. Carlow - on the Wexford border - to Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny where they settled. They had two other sons and two daughters and I think that these were born in Graignamanagh. One son, Edward (1830-1883), was my great-grandfather. One of their daughters was called Margaret. She was older than Edward and she was born before 1828. I have no further records about Margaret. The other siblings were Anastatia(1828-1841) and John. John was drowned in a well in Graignamanagh. I know where Patrick, Catherine, Anastatia, James and Edward are buried but not Margaret or John. There is a slight possibility that Margaret may be the person whose records you have located, though the Wexford birthplace and her father's name may indicate that she is a different person. We need to do some more searching to confirm or otherwise. I hope that we can find a link. By the way the reference to Dungarvan may not be the town in Co. Waterford as there is another Dungarvan about 10 miles from Graignamanagh. I made a typing error in my previous message. I stated that my great-great-great-grandfather James was born in 1856. That should of course have read 1756. I know his gravestone in Clonegal. Regards,Peter
