O'NEILL, MICHAEL. Rank: Fireman. Regiment or Service: Mercantile Marine. Unit: S. S. "Lusitania" (Liverpool). The Lusitania was sunk by German Submarine U-20. Age at Death: 44. Date of Death: 07-May-1915. From an article in the Enniscorthy Guardian; One of the victims of the stupendous German crime which caused the destruction of the Lusitania and the murder of 1, 500 men women and children, Was Michael O’Neill, brother of Mr John O’Neill, William Street, New Ross, a baker in the employment of Mr John Murphy U. C. John Street. Michael was one of the Lusitania’s stokers and the anxious enquiries of his brother elicited the sad tidings that hhe was not one of the survivors. Prayers were offered up at all the Masses in both churches on Sunday last for the repose of the soul of the deceased. He was a man of about 42 years of age and a native of Wexford where another brother of his resides. Supplementary information; Son of the late Michael and Mary O'Neill. Born at Wexford. Memorial: Tower Hill Memorial UK.

O'NEILL, MICHAEL. Rank: Stoker. Regiment or Service: Royal Naval Reserve. Unit: H. M. S. "Inflexible. " Age at Death: 41. Date of Death: 18-March-1915. Service No: 669V. Supplementary information; Son of Patrick and Elizabeth O'Neill of Wexford. Grave or Memorial Reference: 8. Memorial: Plymouth Naval Memorial UK.

There were other O'Neills from Wexford died in ww1 but they were not sailors.
