I may have found your William Stafford - the 1880 census of Chicago, Illinois has William, husband Mary, and children Jasper, Thomas, Bridget, and John - ages 58, 48, 20, 17, 14, and 11. In the 1870 census, their ages are listed as 45, 28, 9, 7, 5 and 9 mos. Both William and Mary are shown as being born in Ireland. There is not much information in those censuses, but the names of the children make these people appear to be part of the same family. This also may confirm the Mary Stafford buried in the same grave with Johanna Stafford Johnson.
