I mentioned Taghmon because in May 2000 I received information from the County Wexford Heritage Center that located Jasper Stafford and Bridget Evoy as the parents of Catherine Stafford, born 1819. They said there was a gap in the baptism records between 1823-1864 and none of the marriage or death records survive. The death certificate for my great-grandmother, Johanna Stafford Johnson, who died in 1911, shows that her father was Jasper Stafford, her mother was Bridget Evoy, and she was born in Ireland in 1841. However, her gravestone has age 77 years, so she may have been born around 1834. The Heritage Center found a John Johnson in the neighboring parish of Rathangan who was born in 1823. John died in 1893 at age 66, so that John could have been my great-grandfather.
