I, too, have that independent streak.I've lived on the East Coast, the Midwest and now Southern Ca.It's beautiful here but very expensive, so we are going to St. Louis after my daughter graduates high school (we is she and I).My housing costs are triple what they were back in St. Louis for a little more than half of the living space. So, in order to be where I want to be financially for my move, we are heading back.We actually miss our friends there as well.
I am an HR professional, and part of my research was investigating those opportunities. They seem to be in quite an abundance and with the amount of American companies over there I'm sure that I can find work. However, I will have the resources in place just in case and I can always fall back on writing and photography. We are not completely certain about living in Dublin and have also looked into the counties surrounding it.I would not want to be too far and would want to be on the DART line or a direct bus route. What we will probably do is take up temporary residence until I am employed and then look for something more permanent. That may involve the hospitality of my relations, though they don't know it yet.My daughter is also checking out universities.
So drop me a line from time to time.I'm sure my place will be revolving door for family, friends, friends of friends, ect who wander over.I'm all for it!The tea will be ready!
