John Doran - kidnapped from Ireland - 1760's?

I heard a story of an ancestor who was taken from his home around the age of 12 from the woodpile outside his parent's home in Ireland. I heard that he was taken by two uncles. There have been indications that he could have come from Co. Wexford. His name was John Doran and he was born about 1750-55. He died in 1810 and was buried in Rutherford County, North Carolina, USA. He had a son, Edward (born 1786 in NC) and married Elizabeth Freeman. I don't know who John Doran married. If you have heard a similar story or have a lead for me, I would appreciate it.
