Marge - The Mary Cadigan you saw on the 1881 census for Lingan was the daughter of James Cadigan brother of Patrick Cadegan. The Mary Cadegan (Ronan) that is my GG Grandmother is shown on the 1871 census in Lingan with her mother Catherine Ronan living with her. Mary and her husband Patrick then moved to Boston later in 1871. I'm not sure what their religion was for sure but most of their records were kept in the St. Patricks/Sacred Heart Parish Church in Sydney so I believe they were Catholic. Patrick also moved from Boston to Greeley County Nebraska with a group of "Irish Catholics" who were granted land. They settled the town of O'Connor Nebraska. I have listings of parish records (also from Sacred Heart parish) for your John and Christina's marriage and birth and baptism of their daughter Sarah Mary. Also some mining record entries for John Ronan, David Ronan, Bartholomew Rhonan and Hugh R. Rhonan in Sydney Mines. You can e-mail me if you don't have this info and I will pass it on. Take care - Gene
