Hello Jeff:

I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.

Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%.

Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.

Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome).

For Alice Dalton B 1828 +/- 4 yrs, Co. Westmeath, with the father's name unknown, I found 0 rcds. The only "Alice" in the Westmeath database is in 1792 - way too early for your timeline.

For Ellen Dalton B ditto, I found 3 rcds: 1826 Miltown parish, 1828 Miltown, and Rochfortbridge. Father's forname for the 1826 rcd was Peter.

For Cat(herine) B 1818 +/- 2 yrs, ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1817, Miltown parish. Father's forename was Peter.

For Jane/Richard/Winifred/Mary/Thomas Dalton B ????, Co. Westmeath, with a father forenamed Peter, I found only 1 rcd for Mary in 1826. There were rcds for some of the others, but these were outside your timeline.

For Cat(herine) Dalton M 1839 +/- 4 yrs, Co. Westmeath, I found 6 rcds: 1836, 2-1837, 1839, 1840, and 1843. Two, 1837 and 1839 were in Milltown.

For ???? Nally M ditto, I found Nicholas 1836, James 1836, John 1836, Michael 1836, Patrick 1836, 2-John 1839, Patrick 1839, Nicholas 1840, John 1843, Mathew 1843, Nicholas 1843, and Thomas 1843.

Will leave it to you to use the above and find the associated parish for each. If you find M rcds in the same yr and parish, these are likely for these ancestors. This is more tedium than I wish to endure.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
