On 23rd October I posted queries on Patrick Duffy b. 1821 and Elizabeth Linas with various spellings boen 1823 in Dorrington. They had two children Christopher born 1844 and Agnes born 1847 in Co. Down. I found two childen with the right names, dates of birth with Patrick Duffy the Father. I downloaded Christopher Baptismal Certificate with great euphorhia. But to my horror, everything was right except the Mother is given as Catherine Rooney and witness Mary Rooney. NO ELIZABETH LINAS. The place of birth is given as Moneyslane, Drumgooland. Tried to find a marriage between a Patrick and Catherine Rooney with no luck. Could the entry of Catherine Rooney be wrong?

The great oddity is that Patrick Duffy's Mother was Catherine Rooney who moved to Scotland with the family. Has anyone got any ideas?????
