I googled "Dorrington." The only references led to a town in England. Are you sure of your info? I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840. Rare B4 1800. For Catherine Rooney B 1781 +/- 4 yrs in all Ireland, I found 2 B rcds: 1779 Westmeath and 1781 Co. Dublin. Neither had father's named Peter. The father's forename in both cases is Patrick. At this early date only a few % of all B/M/D events were being rcd'd. The chances that either is for your ancestor are VERY slim. For Christopher Duffy M ???? in all Ireland, I found 4 M rcds within a relevant range of yrs: 1800 Longford, 1807 Longford, 1810 Louth, and 1811 Meath. For Catherine Rooney M ditto, I found 0 matching dates and counties for those shown for Christopher. Therefore, there is no match. For Peter Rooney M ditto, the only rcd in a relevant range is for 1757. However, this is likely too early for your timeline. For Elizabeth Gracey, M ditto, I found 0 M rcds. It is likely the B and M events were never, rcd'd, didn't survive, or (slim) haven't been digitized. Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Pls post your search results to this genforum msg. Hope this helps. Good luck. Notify Administrator about this message?
