I have very liitle information on Robert Humphreys as I have, so far, been unable to find birth/marriage certs for him. I know that he and Bridget had 5 children:
William b 2/4/1865, Bridget b. 9/6/1866, Michael b. 29/1/1868, Anne b. 5/3/1869 and James b. 6/5/1871 (my great-grandfather). I know from James’ birth cert that Robert was a Carpenter and the family were living in Cook Lane, Waterford at that time. I searched through death records and found one for a Robert Humphreys, Carpenter, living in Waterford who died in 1873 aged 48 years, so it’s possible that was him. On the 1901 census, Bridget, born in Kilkenny, was widowed and living with her daughter Anne (Hannah) Hughes in Mall Lane, Waterford. Mall Lane was James’ address when he married Ellen Kelter in the Church of Trinity Without, Ballybricken, in 1893.
James and Ellen (also from Waterford) had 6 children. They lived in Cathedral Square, Waterford, but moved to Dublin around 1902. Their children were: Mary, Robert, Margaret, Andrew (my grandfather) all born in Waterford and Bridget and Ellen who were born in Dublin. Andrew married Margaret Cooke in 1924 and they had 3 children: James, Catherine (my mother) and Margaret.
I have very little information on James Humphreys siblings as I was researching the direct family. I have more information/photos of James. If you leave me your e-mail address, I could send what I have to you.
