I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.

Co. Waterford rcds aren't in this database yet.

Assuming John was married in a county in the existing database, I found 8 B rcds for John Shea B 1824 (exact). These are in: 5-Co. Cork, 2-Co. Limerick, and 1-Co. Kilkenny.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
