Ship Hibernia from Belfast, Ireland to New York 1812

  of 1713

The ship Hibernia, left Belfast, Ireland and arrived New York May, 1812. On the ship passenger list is James Harper, but not shown on list is wife Elizabeth Black and 3 children who probably came at the same time. By 1820 he is in Washington Co, NY, listed on 1820 census as James Hopper.

Family tradition says James came from County Tyrone. Does anyone have any other residents of County Tyrone taking the Ship Hibernia to New York?

Previous year in 1811 the Hibernia left Belfast, Ireland, arrived New York, and on that passenger list are:

Harper, Richard
" Jane
" Catherine
" Joseph

Is this a husband and wife, with two children? Does anyone know this group? Did they leave County Tyrone, also? Any connection to James Harper?

Glad to check records next trip to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and share anthing I find.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
