Good day,

I was wondering if either of you would happen to know if any of this Hood family were the ones who began/operated the Hood and Company Store in 1820 which is in operation yet today in Newtownstewart.

Or would you happen to know who those folk were or where I can get any information on them ?

I have e-mailed the store twice receiving no response. I write as my gg-grandfather was Charles Hood Irving of Newtownstewart, County Tyrone. I know that he worked at that store sometime before he emigrated to America in 1840 - he was born in 1818. His middle name seems a dead giveaway to a strong connection, perhaps mother's maiden surname, but I can find nothing to verify this.

Any information you might have to share is greatly appreciated !

Thank you and good day,
Carla DeVries
