There are 3 major sources for the IFHF rcds 1) parish registers from ALL denominations, although the RC rcds are predominant; 2) civil rcds which began (with foot dragging implementation) in 1845 for non-catholics and 1864 for all persons. Many of the civil rcds were destroyed in the 1922 Four Courts fire during the Irish Civil War; and 3) census rcds from 1901 and (soon) 1911. Prior census rcds back to 1831 were destroyed by the British in 1916.

Parish rcds would be based on Baptism dates. Civil rcds on Birth dates.

Supposedly, ALL surviving Co. Tyrone church rcds have been transcribed. Check the "sources" tab at the database website for specific notes. With the exception of census rcds, and possibly some civil rcds, transcription of Co. Tyrone's rcds is complete. There is always a slim chance that a few more will be found, but ABSOLUTELY don't bet on this.
