Hello John: I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,800,000 surviving rcds for abt 70% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800. Cos. Donegal and Derry were recently added to the database. For Isa(bella) Smith B 1837 +/- 4 yrs, Co. Tyrone, with a father forenamed William, I found 0 rcds. For Isa(bella) Smith M 1858 +/- 2 yrs, somewhere in Ireland, I found 8 rcds: 1856 Down, 1856 Antrim, 1856 Cavan, 1858 Antrim, 1858 Tipperary, 1858 Derry, 1859 Antrim, 1859 Derry, and 1859 Fermanagh. For ???? O'Hanlon M ditto in the same counties for Isabella, I found 46 rcds - too many to summarize here. You can compare these 46 rcds with the dataset for Isabella to see which yr/cnty combinations are in common. Then within this much reduced set, you can look for matches in the same parish. If you find one, this is likely for these ancestors. Note - this is VERY tedious. For Mary O'Hanlon B 1860 +/- 1 yr, ditto, with the father's forename unknown, I found 12 rcds. In Co. Tyrone there is 1 rcd in 1861. Father's forename was Pat(rick). Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg. Hope this helps. Good luck. Notify Administrator about this message?
