Emily TRUEMAN, a Co. Tyrone native who emigrated to Grenville Co., Ontario, and died young, and her father who died in 1896 in Ballygawley, are mentioned in Ontario obituaries. These are not my ancestors, but I saw them when researching other names. Hopefully these entries will help someone researching the TRUEMAN family of Co. Tyrone. From the "Kemptville Weekly Advance" newspaper (Kemptville is in Grenville County, Ontario): Issue - April 9, 1896 - "A few days ago Mrs. J. A. TUCK received the sad intelligence of the death of her father, Wm. TRUEMAN, of Ballygawley, Co. Tyrone, Ireland, which sad event occurred on the 20th of March. Deceased had attained to the advanced age of 82 years and prior to his death was ill but a few weeks." (Note that the Kemptville Weekly Advance, issue 17th April 1896, has Mr. Trueman's complete obituary as published in the "Ulster Star," Dungannon). The death of "Mrs. John A. Tuck" herself was reported in Kemptville Weekly Advance issue 30th November 1899: "The death of Mrs. John A. TUCK of this town ...on Monday morning" .... "Thirteen years ago she bade good-bye to her father, three brothers and one sister in Ireland and came to Canada where she had two aunts, Mrs. Robert CLELAND of Osgood and Mrs. Daniel GRANT now of Kemptville" ..... "One of her brothers is a pastor of a Baptist tabernacle in London, England..." Ontario Death Records show that "Emily Tuck," age 29, died of consumption on Nov. 26, 1899 in Grenville County. She was a barber's wife, religion "B." (Baptist), and the death informant was "J. A. Tuck." Another entry of the same death in the combined counties of Leeds and Grenville has her death date as Nov. 27th, informant "John Tuck." The Ontario birth record of "William Earl Tuck" in 1893 shows his parents as "John Tuck, barber" and "Emma Truman" of Kemptville. Annie C. Notify Administrator about this message?
