Hey Jude:

I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.

Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%.

Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.

Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome).

For Edward Shea B pre-1865 in Co. Tipperary with a father forenamed James, I found 2 rcds within a relevant range: 1840 and 1848. The parishes are Cloughjordan and Dunkerrin respectively.

For Jane Shea B ditto, I found 2 rcds: 1850 and 1858. The parishes were St. Mary's and Kilsheelan RC respectively.

For James Shea M 1838 +/- 1 yr in Ireland, I found 12 rcds: 2-1836 LIM, 1837 CRK, 2-1837 KIL, 2-1838 LIM, 1839 TIP, & 1840 LIM.

For Marg(aret) Boland M ditto, I found 9 rcds: 1836 CRK, 1837 LIM, 1838 TIP, 1838 SLI, 2-1839 TIP, 1839 GAL, 2-1840 TIP. By comparison, there are NO potential matches.

For James Shea M 1846 +/- 2 yrs ditto, I found 6 rcds: 2-1844 CRK, 1845 KIL, 1845 CRK, 1846 KIL, and 1847 DUB.

For Marg(aret) Boland M ditto, I found 5 rcds: 1845 LIM, 1845 TIP, 1846 LIM, 1846 SLI, and 1847 ARM. Again, there are NO potential matches.

For James Boland M 1820 +/- 4 yrs ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1820 TIP.

For Jane Delahay M ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1820 ROS - a NO match.

For James Boland M 1827 ditto, I found 3 rcds: 1824 ROS, 1825 CRK, and 1831 GAL.

For Jane Delahay M ditto, I found 0 rcds - again NO match.

For the children, SOME of the rcds MAY be for your ancestors - no guarantee. Only a view of the detailed rcds will reveal the mother's name. This will validate/invalidate the rcds. Caution - Note 3 applies.

For the James Shea and Jane Boland marriage, and the James Boland and Jane Delahay marriage, I can't find matching M rcds. Either the rcds didn't survive, or they haven't been digitized yet - note 3 applies.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
